My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Gut Driven: Jump-Start Digestive Health to Nourish Body, Mind, and Spirit Kindle Edition by Ellen Postolowski is a great book and one that will help you on your journey to health. The author details how she had disabling gut symptoms, and seemingly got no help from the medical establishment. This book details not only that experience but how to get your health back in a proactive and useful way. This is more of a holistic approach which is presented in clear and understandable language. You truly are only as healthy as the food you actually digest. With that in mind, this is a great book for anyone who wants to address gut issues and their health. Recommended.

Creatrix Rising: Unlocking the Power of Midlife Women by Stephanie Raffelock

Creatrix Rising: Unlocking the Power of Midlife WomenCreatrix Rising: Unlocking the Power of Midlife Women by Stephanie Raffelock
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Creatrix Rising by Stephanie Raffelock celebrates the creative potential of women in their 40s and older. The book provides insights into the history of women's journey through the stages of life, challenging the stereotypes of the Maiden/Mother/Crone labels. Stephanie encourages women to embrace their later years as a creative playground to be explored and savored, rather than dry up during menopause and become the stereotype of ugly, useless "crones". Each chapter includes questions and journal opportunities to elicit thoughts about ourselves and our relationships with women in society. This beautifully written empowering read boldly punches the crone archetype in the face and delivers the raw truth of women’s struggle to rise above that negative mindset. Recommended.
