Planet of the Cats by Hans Ness

Planet of the CatsPlanet of the Cats by Hans Ness
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rolo on the Planet of the Cats by Hans Ness is a charming and clever sci-fi adventure for kids that is packed with humor, heart, and lots of fun. The story follows Rolo, a hooman who crash-lands on a cat-ruled Earth while searching for his ancestral home. Here, furry felines are the villains, amazingly enough, and the world bursts with talking animals, airships, circuses, and quirky characters. I love the vibrant art that adds depth and whimsy, perfectly capturing the book’s imaginative feel. A foldable rocket and futuristic gadgets add fun sci-fi aspects. Ness’s easy, clever prose makes it great for kids, while adults will like it too. Themes of bravery, friendship, and stepping out of your comfort zone impart wisdom. It’s a totally fun read that will keep young readers entertained. Recommended for kids and their parents as well.
