Killing on the Norfolk Broads by Heather Peck

Killing on the Norfolk Broads by Heather Peck is a dark, gripping detective mystery that kept me intrigued with its disturbing discoveries and tangled investigation. When Detective Greg Geldard investigates a body found in a derelict farmhouse near the quiet village of Themelthorpe, he encounters a gruesome scene that raises more questions than answers. A headless skeleton, a suspicious witness, and evidence that another woman is being held captive turn the case into a desperate race against time. I particularly enjoyed the atmosphere Peck creates. The seemingly peaceful Norfolk countryside, with its remote farms and quiet villages, provides an unsettling contrast to the horrific crimes unfolding beneath the surface. There is a constant sense of menace, and the isolated setting makes the danger feel even more immediate. Geldard is a thoughtful, determined detective whose personal struggles add another dimension to the investigation. The plot is layered with secrets, unexpected developments, and enough twists to keep readers guessing.
